Come with me to the Mississippi Delta land, a wide stretch of black dirt spreading from Illinois to the Gulf of Mexico on both sides of the Mississippi River.  Historically, a land where cotton was king.

Few regions in the world have witnessed as fruitful a union between human endeavor and physical setting as the Mississippi Delta.  Although the land is rich, for many, life was hard.  Most thought hard work would overcome the bad times.

See that old shack over there?  
That's what's left of a sharecroppers home, the last glimpse of a culture that succumbed to changing times.

That's all   they had to show for thirty years of back breaking labor.
There was no future. Like the people who dwelled in it, this old house will soon pass on, only the surrounding fields will remain.

The purpose of Delta Dirt is to generate interest, revitalize and serve the rural community.
